I am a licensed radio amateur since 1991 and was on CB radio since I was 14 years old.
There were ups and downs and in 2010 I sold my whole rig for some reasons. The idea was to get back to HAM radio when I am retired. That would be in 30 years from now. But I simply couldn't wait until then. I bought a Yaesu FT 857 2 years ago but wasn't quiet happy with it. Now I run the Icom IC-7300 and I am totally in love with that little rig.
Unfortunately I don't have a chance to build big antennas at home right now, so I am mostly active mobile or portable. Sometimes I use the 'crap-loop' - my little coax magnetic loop - for FT8 or CW. I also own a small sailing yacht which from time to time turns into a radio station :)
Besides playing radio I like horseback riding, sailing, snowboarding, software development and a lot other things.
